The first Tin Can Alley Cat Race was held in Jakarta on Feb 14, 2010.
A true collaborative effort from so many different amazing people, the race was in one word, FUN!
Alley Cat race is…
an informal bicycle race that almost always take place in cities, and are often organized by bicycle messengers. The informality of the organization is matched by the emphasis on taking part, rather than simple competition. Many Alleycats present prizes for the last competitor to finish (sometimes known as Dead Fucking Last or DFL). The first race to be called “Alleycat” was held in Toronto on October 30, 1989 and continued, in its original form, around Halloween and Valentine’s Day for the following five years.
The race started at 9.45 AM in Taman Menteng, Jakarta.
40 racers
Different types of bicycles
5 unique check points

We are happy to share with you an exciting new page on Facebook, We Photograph Change — Kami Memotret Perubahan.
Created by one of our favorite photographer couple, Edy Purnomo and Ng Swan Ti, this facebook page is home to many interesting discussions about photography and thought provoking photos.
Here is my personal favorite quote from the page:
“Ketika selembar foto tinggal menjadi hiasan tembok.
Tak mampu lagi menjadi teman bermain catur.
Ketika selera umum dan nafkah menjadi sebuah titik.
Bukan koma.” By: Yunus Pudyo Nugroho
or translated loosely;
“When a photo is only a wall decoration
No longer a friend in a chess game
When the general taste and money became a period, and not a comma.”
